Stars are using the 'civilizing force' of music to fight the devil

Montreal's Stars have made a career out of making you feel understood. They made sure that your heartbreaks, successes, even your frailty had musical accompianment. Their new album is entitled There is no Love in Fluorescent Light and it's their first since 2014's No One is Lost. The group recorded the album in Montreal and Connecticut with producer Peter Katis, known for his work with the National and Interpol, among other projects. 

While the distinctive voices of Amy Millan and Torquil Campbell remain key to the music of Stars, There is no Love in Fluorescent Light also represents a change for Stars in that it is their first release on Last Gang Records.

Stars play songs from their new record, due out Oct. 13, and talk to Tom Power about it.
