Moe Berg's oral history of I'm an Adult Now

It used to be a pretty big deal for an unsigned band to get their music video on television. So when The Pursuit of Happiness got this rare opportunity back in 1986, it changed their lives.

Just a few weeks earlier, the band hauled a bunch of their gear down to an empty parking lot on Queen Street West in Toronto and got their friend to film them playing. That became their official music video for I'm an Adult Now, one that got played on television channels like MuchMusic. This video helped break down some of the barriers between the underground and the mainstream music scenes across Canada. 

This month, I'm an Adult Now turns 30 years old. Moe Berg, the frontman and founder of The Pursuit of Happiness, stopped by the q studio to look back on the single in this q oral history.

The Pursuit of Happiness recently reissued their debut album Love Junk, and next month you'll have the chance to catch them performing some of those songs live in Winnipeg on Nov. 2, Edmonton on Nov. 3 and Vancouver on Nov. 10.
