Jenny Lewis on how she tapped into her unconscious to write her new album, On the Line
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis discusses her new album, On the Line, and performs a few songs in the q studio.
In 2017, acclaimed singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis was going through some painful and disruptive changes in her life. Her mother had died of cancer and she had also just ended a 12-year relationship with musician Jonathan Rice. That's when she sat down to write a new record, and for the first time in a long time, she wrote it all on her own.
Those songwriting sessions became a fantastic new album called On the Line. Lewis joined host Tom Power in the q studio to open up about how that challenging time in her life led her to create her most personal collection of songs in her career.
