In the beloved romantic comedy My Best Friend's Wedding, actor Rupert Everett stole every scene he was in, which is why you might remember him best for that role. But there's a lot more to him than that.

Over the years, Everett has cultivated a relationship with Oscar Wilde's work, both onscreen and onstage. He even calls Wilde the "patron saint" of his career. All of this culminates with the release of The Happy Prince, a new biopic about the Irish author directed by and starring Everett.

Everett joined q host Tom Power to tell us more about the film and why the author's work still resonates today.

The Happy Prince opens in Toronto Friday, Oct. 19, and will be in theatres across Canada later this month.
