A second coming in Sudbury: the creator of What Would Sal Do? on the city that defines his show
What Would Sal Do? creator Andrew de Angelis and star Dylan Taylor discuss the new CraveTV series.
Sal is a selfish, unemployed, underachieving 30-something who still lives at home with his mother in Sudbury, Ont. He also might be the second coming of Christ.
That's the twist in the new series, What Would Sal Do?, which premiered on CraveTV last week. Creator Andrew de Angelis is quick to note that this comedy is not meant to be a take down of religion, though. Instead, he wanted to treat it with honesty: "It's not forced, it's not mean-spirited — this is about someone trying to be a good person."
Andrew de Angelis and star Dylan Taylor talked to Tom Power today about how the show's setting of Sudbury, Ont., influenced the show and what it was like to work with Kids in the Hall alum Scott Thompson.
