Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia are hip-hop legends, world-famous DJs and the hosts of a pioneering hip-hop radio show called The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show.

In the '90s, the New York City-based duo introduced listeners to The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Wu-Tang Clan and Jay-Z years before they were signed. Now, decades into their careers, Stretch and Bobbito are trying something new: they've produced an album of their own titled No Requests, which reimagines some of hip-hop's most foundational songs.

They joined q's Tom Power live on the line from New York to reflect on their 30-year career as central characters in the story of hip-hop.

Stretch and Bobbito's debut album, No Requests, is out now. If you want to hear more of their stories, check out their documentary Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives.
