Director Jordan Canning talks about Suck It Up, a new film that tackles the ways we grieve over a lost one, and how that can go hand-in-hand with laughter.
Have you ever laughed at a funeral? Cracked a joke at the bedside of a sick loved one? Laughter and grief go hand-in-hand. How laughter helps us deal with the darker sides of life is the main theme in the new Canadian film, Suck It Up. The film started as a passion project for the two lead actors, Grace Glowicki and Erin Carter. They play Ronnie and Faye, two best friends grieving the death of a loved one, Ronnie's brother and Faye's first love, Garrett. Today, Tom Power speaks to the film's director, Jordan Canning.
Suck It Up is out in Canada on Dec. 1.
