Why Terry Fallis isn't shy to show another side to his writing
Author Terry Fallis is back with his sixth novel. One Brother Shy strays from the political satire Fallis is known for — he says he wants to explore new themes that tap into more than his past career in politics. One Brother Shy is the latest chapter in unlikely career for Fallis, especially after his first book was initially rejected by several publishers.
That book was Best Laid Plans, winner of the Stephen Leacock medal for humour and 2011 Canada Reads champion.
Fallis talks to q host Tom Power about publishing success after initially building his career in politics. Now, ten years and five books in varying genres later, political satirist is a title that Fallis hasn't been able to shake, a reputation he hopes his latest book will help to shift.
