q's Thursday Headliner: Psychedelic soul group Black Pumas

Black Pumas join Tom Power live in the q studio for a performance and chat about their self-titled debut album, which is turning heads north and south of the border for its unique blend of hip-hop samples and old-school soul.

In a new segment that we're calling the q Thursday Headliner, we're kicking off the show with a live performance from a band or artist we think you need to hear.

Our very first q Thursday Headliner is the Austin-based psychedelic soul group, Black Pumas. The core duo of the group, singer Eric Burton and guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada, join host Tom Power in the q studio for a few live performances and a chat about their self-titled debut album, which is turning heads north and south of the border for its unique blend of hip-hop samples and old-school soul.

Black Pumas are performing tonight in Toronto at the Drake Hotel and will be at the Festival d'été in Quebec this Saturday. Their debut album, Black Pumas, is out now.
