Tantoo Cardinal is one of the most recognisable and prolific Indigenous actors in Canada. Even if you don't know her by name, chances are you've seen her on screen. She's been in more than 120 films and television shows over her 40-year career, including Legends of The Fall, Dances With Wolves, Smoke Signals, Westworld, Mohawk Girls, Frontier and many more.

At this year's Toronto International Film Festival, Cardinal is in three films, including her first starring role in a feature called Falls Around Her. During the festival, she'll receive an award for her contributions to film and television as part of the Birks Diamond Tribute to the Year's Women in Film.

Tom Power had a chance to sit down with Cardinal and ask her what it's like to have not one, but three films at one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world.
