Bebe Rexha has made her name in the music business writing songs for artists like Eminem, Rihanna and David Guetta. Now she's finally merging from behind the scenes and becoming a formidable pop star in her own right.

Earlier this year, Rexha released her album My Fault Pt. I, making the transition from writing hits for others, such as Eminem and Rihanna's "Monster," to writing for herself complete.

"I look back at the history of ["Monster"] and what it has given to me respect-wise in the industry, which for me is very important as an artist," says Rexha. "It gave me so much control over that, especially as a female pop artist."

Rexha talks to Tom Power about the transition and how she intends to build on her foundation to make a make power moves in the future.

"I really want to start a record label and a publishing company and I want to sign artists, 'cause I remember when I first got signed, the excitement — I love seeing that in 15-year-olds," she says. "I want to be the female version of P-Diddy, or no, Jay-Z. And I hope 20 years from now to own a big record company that helps break a lot of new acts and makes their dreams come true."
