Sarathy Korwar brings the thriving jazz soundtrack of London's Dalston district to life

Sarathy Korwar takes us on a sonic guide to the North London district of Dalston in this q block party.
Sarathy Kowar's 2016 debut album is entitled Day to Day. (Fabrice Bourgelle)

Combining Indian folk music and jazz, Sarathy Korwar turned heads with his debut Ninja Tune album, Day to Day, last year.

Korwar made the album by combining field recordings he made of Siddis in India with the freeform jazz excursions of musicians in London, England, which accounts for its unique sonic content.

It's this scene in Dalston, London, featuring Korwar collaborators like recent q guest Shabaka Hutchings, where this q block party is taking place, with Korwar as our sonic guide.
