How Jennifer Podemski uses television to steer the conversation around Indigenous people in Canada

Jennifer Podemski is a Canadian actor and producer who has worked on television shows like Moccasin Flats, Empire of Dirt and Dance Me Outside. Much of her career has revolved around bringing Indigenous issues and women's issues to light through television and film.
On Feb. 24, Podemski will be honoured with the Award of Excellence from ACTRA Toronto celebrating her contributions toward gender equity and spotlighting Indigenous issues through media. Ahead of the awards ceremony, Podemski joined q's Tom Power live to look back on her career and discuss the current climate women and Indigenous people in film and television are facing.
