Author Rachel Joyce on the music that inspired her latest, The Music Shop
Best-selling author Rachel Joyce joins Tom Power to talk about some of the songs featured in her novel The Music Shop, set in London in the late '80s.
Picture a vinyl record shop in London in 1988 lit by lava lamps and hazy with cigarette smoke. A relationship based entirely around music develops between the clerk behind the counter and a mysterious woman in a green pea coat. That's the starting point for the new novel The Music Shop by best-selling British author Rachel Joyce, who will join Tom to talk about some of the music from the book, from Beethoven to Van Morrison and Miles Davis to Vivaldi.
