Searchlight, the annual hunt for Canada's best new music act, has narrowed the competition down to four worthy contenders. That's a long way from the over 3,000 hopefuls who entered in March.

This year's judges — Dan Boeckner, Jenn Grant and Saukrates — join Shad to reveal their individual picks as well as an audience favourite. Enjoy them all but remember that in the end ... there can only be one!

Your finalists are ...

Dan Boeckner's pick: Scary Bear Soundtrack (Iqaluit region)

Scary Bear Soundtrack is an indie dream pop act, blending layers of shoegaze with synth pop. (Denise Lebleu)

Jenn Grant's pick: Orange O'Clock (Quebec City region)
