Laura Marling shares director's cut of 'Short Movie' album
Laura Marling launched her music career in England when she was only 16 — but, despite widespread acclaim, she nearly quit a couple of years ago after an "existential crisis" in LA.
Today, the introspective singer-songwriter joins Shad to discuss the songs that brought her back to music, the dips in her journey, and why she's more comfortable being called an "old soul" these days.
Marling also performs two stunning songs from her new album, Short Movie.
Producer's note: Marling topped q's annual list of the top 20 albums in 2013, when we described her as a "young artist whose seasoned performances could fool you into thinking she's of a bygone musical era." After you check out Short Movie, be sure to circle back and explore the stunning record Once I Was An Eagle.
The musician tells Shad it's the album she's most proud of.
