In a conversation from the Best of Q, guest host Brent Bambury speaks with Bob Mankoff, the cartoon editor of The New Yorker and one of its foremost cartoonists. Over the years, Mankoff has created and also edited thousands of cartoons for the renowned magazine.

The prolific cartoonist joins Brent to talk about the art and politics of the cartoon, how the bad things in life inspire the best jokes, and the nature of humour and humanity — all themes he explores in his new book: How About Never - Is Never Good for You?

Mankoff also offers a few tips for winning The New Yorker's wildly popular caption contest.
