Aimee Mann, Death Cab For Cutie rally against Trump in new musical project
Author Dave Eggers was particularly struck by one thing when he attended a rally for Donald Trump in June: they used Elton John's song, "Tiny Dancer."
Eggers couldn't get it out of his mind: how could Trump's campaign use Elton John's music like that?
So he set out to find a way for progressive musicians to voice how they really felt about Trump. This was how 30 Days 30 Songs was born.
For each of the 30 days leading up to next Tuesday's U.S. presidential election, Eggers and his partner Jordan Kurland asked different musicians to write original songs that made the case for a Trump-free America. The project has now expanded to 40 songs including tracks by Ani DiFranco, Moby, and our two guests, Aimee Mann and Nick Harmer of Death Cab For Cutie.
Mann and Harmer break down their contributions, "Can't You Tell?" and "Million Dollar Loan," respectively and explain why they're against Donald Trump.
