Junos 2016: Too commercial. Too delayed. Can the Junos ever win?

Drake. Justin Bieber. Alessia Cara. This year's Juno Awards cap off a banner year for Canadian music. 

The Weeknd alone is up for six Junos — the most nominations of any artist this year. 

In the lead-up to this Sunday's show, Shad checks in with a special Junos panel: 

• Lisa Christiansen, CBC Radio arts reporter and former Juno judge.
• Michael Barclay, music critic and author. 
• Damian Abraham, lead singer of F--ked Up and host of the podcast Turned Out A Punk.

The panellists debate whether the Junos got it right, whether album sales are a good benchmark of success, and how relevant the awards are in today's global music market.
