Ten women of all ages sitting on chairs, facing an audience, ready to tell the kind of personal stories that they usually only tell each other.

No, it's not The Vagina Monologues — it's The Hooker Monologues. Vancouver's new storytelling show features women in the sex trade and some of their supporters.

In the lead up to its world premiere tonight, tantric sex specialist Carmen Shakti and Maggie de Vries, bereaved sister of Sarah de Vries, join Shad to bust myths and share stories from the unique stage show.

"Sex workers are as varied a group of people as any group of people," says de Vries, adding that stigma merely pushes women like her sister into the dark.
