If you have to "pack your knives and go," at least you can brag that you once fed Padma Lakshmi  the actress, model, author, and host of the popular culinary game show, Top Chef.

But in her new memoir, Love, Loss, and What We AteLakshmi delves into the less glamorous parts of her life, like her struggle with endometriosis and the "devastating" end of her marriage with Salman Rushdie. She joins Shad to discuss the book, her early fondness of food as a child in India, and starting The Endometriosis Foundation of America.

"I didn't want the next generation of young girls to go through what I went through," she says.
