Adult film star James Deen — known as porn's "boy next door" — has gained a reputation for playing against type. He's spoken out about the importance of consent and communication during sex, and has attracted both feminist fans and mainstream opportunities.

But serious allegations of rape and sexual assault have swiftly tarnished that image. The actor has defended himself on Twitter, calling the allegations levied against him "false and defamatory".
