Pop-punk vets Jimmy Eat World share their secret to longevity

Jimmy Eat World pops by studio q to perform from their forthcoming album, Integrity Blues.

After their last tour, Arizona punk-pop rockers Jimmy Eat World decided to do something they've never done before — take a break.

For an entire year they didn't think about the band and instead took up some new hobbies, like distilling gin and whiskey. Their forthcoming effort, Integrity Blues, is the result of their regrouping.

Nine albums and 23 years later, the four-member group have developed a shorthand with each other. The secret to longevity? "Being friends before the band started," guitarist and lead vocalist Tom Linton says to guest host Candy Palmater.
