Weirdo art-pop in Aisle 9: Weaves brings 'Costco Rock' to q

Toronto indie-rock quartet Weaves will thrill you with their jagged rhythms, strange guitar riffs and delightful vocal tics.

Weaves take a proudly irreverent approach to pop music. The Toronto indie-rock quartet pairs simple, sing-along melodies with strange guitar riffs, off-kilter rhythms, and head-turning vocal tics.

Their EP has caught the attention of the New York Times and Rolling Stone, which has flagged them as a "band to watch."

Today they swing through studio q to perform three lively songs from their self-titled debut album, .

The band also sit down with guest host Piya Chattopadhyay to discuss their unconventional approach to pop music, and explain why they've described themselves as "Costco Rock."

(Hint: get your musical buggy ready for a wide assortment of sounds.)
