Jim Gaffigan on family, faith and keeping comedy clean
Jim Gaffigan is a Grammy nominated comedian, New York Times best-selling author, top touring performer, and multi-platinum-selling father of five.
He's performed in front of a million-strong crowd that included Pope Francis, and had to deal with being alternately labelled a religious comic, clean comic, and the guy from the Hot Pockets skit.
Recently, he wrapped the first season of his semi-autobiographical television show, The Jim Gaffigan Show, which TV Land just picked up for a second season. It premieres in Canada on The Comedy Network on Dec. 1.
The single-camera comedy co-stars Ashley Williams, Michael Ian Black, and Adam Goldberg and revolves around one man's struggle to balance fatherhood, stand-up comedy and an insatiable appetite.
Today, guest host Gill Deacon speaks with Gaffigan about drawing from his real life for his show, and what place "clean jokes" have in comedy.
