It's a show that might change the way you see the urban jungle. Animals recently debuted on HBO to critical acclaim. (HBO )

House cats feel awkward when alley cats visit.
Geese talk trash as they pick through yours.
Rats don't want to bring dud gifts to dinner parties.

Animals co-creators Mike Luciano and Phil Matarese imagine non-human city dwellers deep in their own drama. The duo joins guest host Talia Schlanger to discuss their hit animated series about the secret lives of urban animals — from dog park outcasts to parade-loving horses.

They also explain how their lo-fi animation wormed its way onto HBO, and how they got celebrities like Jessica Chastain, Wanda Sykes and Marc Maron to do voice work for their weird little cartoon.
