Grey Gardens: The Musical is a fictionalized version of the 1976 Maysles brothers documentary. The story centers on two eccentric women living on Long Island: elderly Edith Beale and her middle-aged daughter Edie — infamous relatives of  Jackie Kennedy Onassis — who lived together in a dilapidated East Hampton mansion, flush with feral cats.
