q's sports culture panel thinks beyond the play-by-play to weigh in on the societal impact of sports stories. Not a fan? Not a problem. Our panel watches much more than the scoreboard.

Today the Toronto Star's Morgan Campbell, CBC host and reporter Sonali Karnick and The Nation's Dave Zirin join Shad to discuss the biggest and strangest stories in sports. Today:

  • Leicester City's Cinderella story. Will the biggest sports upset ever change the big money game of soccer? As Morgan points out, the club still has their work cut out for them. "They bought themselves a ticket: one to the pay day that comes with the Champions League, but [also to] all of the rigour that comes with the Champions League," he tells Shad.

  • The Kentucky Derby, one of horse racing's most famous events. But is it racist? Dave says that history is not on the Derby's side, "You can't separate the Kentucky Derby at all from the question of what race looks like in the United States."

  • The Miami Heat's Chris Bosh is out for the rest of the season due to a blood clot. Sonali thinks this could have an impact on his legacy. "Chris Bosh wants to be immortal, he wants to be in the Hall of Fame and he's 32, he's not ready to hang it up yet," she says.
