Dave Bidini, Miriam Toews and Tom Wilson on how one living artist can inspire her contemporaries in a variety of genres. Plus, a new song!
Tom Wilson's song inspired by Miriam Toews, which he performed for her live on q, left the writer at a loss for words.

What happens when you ask a group of writers and musicians to join forces for a night of creativity, all works inspired by just one contemporary author?

Well, we're about to find out. John K. Samson, Christine Fellows, Grand Analog and Mustafa the Poet are among the talented people getting together this Saturday to perform new songs and stories inspired by award-winning author Miriam Toews.

The event is just the latest installment of a series called Torn from the Pages. Its creator, Dave Bidini, and muse, Miriam Toews, join Friday guest host Gill Deacon to explain how it all works.

Plus, Lee Harvey Osmond a.k.a. Tom Wilson will join us to debut his new, never-before-heard song for the occasion, Beautiful Scars
