Marc Maron has had a seriously intense year. He not only interviewed U.S. President Barack Obama but also his personal white whale, Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels. His popular podcast WTF with Marc Maron continues to thrive. And his sitcom, Maron, is entering its fourth season.

Most people would be thrilled. But Maron isn't like most people.

"I'm amazed every day of my life. But just as I'm amazed, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop," he laughs, adding that we're all just hoping to "not be garbage."

Today the straight-shooting podcaster joins Shad to discuss his uncomfortable relationship with success, why he puts his worst-case-scenario life on TV, and how he really feels after bagging the two biggest interviews of his career.
