Doug Paisley has us feeling Strong Feelings
Doug Paisley returns to Q today to perform songs from his new album Strong Feelings. Listen or watch 'Song My Love Can Sing Below''
Toronto singer-songwriter Doug Paisley returns to Q today to perform songs from his new album Strong Feelings, due out this coming Tuesday. It's his first full-length album since 2010's Constant Companion, which earned him some high-profile praise from the likes of Rolling Stone and the New Yorker.
Paisley talks to Jian about the new record and the different approach he took this time around, such as working with a full band of musicians (including the legendary Garth Hudson of The Band on organ), recording on one of Glenn Gould's pianos, and spending more time in the studio embellishing the songs.
He also reflected on finding himself musically, and not getting caught up in the "idea of" himself.
Our friends at CBC Music have an advance stream of Strong Feelings on their site until January 21!
