Q Luminato: Cronenberg, Wainwright, Rossellini and more!

Last night, as part of Toronto's annual Luminato Festival, Jian and the Q crew recorded a special live version of the show. Canadian director David Cronenberg, renowned musician Rufus Wainwright and performance artist Isabella Rossellini were among the talented humans who graced the stage.

• Montreal-raised troubadour Rufus Wainwright performs live and also discusses re-contextualizing Broadway musical classics for his Luminato showcase If I Loved You: Gentlemen Prefer Broadway - An Evening of Love Duets.
   
• Fresh from Cannes, internationally-renowned Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg talks about his latest triumph, Maps to the Stars, about his forthcoming novel Consumed and how writing fiction differs from movie making.
   
• Actress Isabella Rossellini talks about her life, career, and bringing her new stage production Green Porno to Luminato. The show -- part lecture on the nature of sexuality, part costumed performance piece -- is based on short films Rossellini made for the Sundance Channel.
   
• Jian reconvenes the Q media panel featuring Judy Rebick of Rabble.ca, John Cruickshank of the Toronto Star and the National Post's Jonathan Kay.
   
• Alt-country singer-songwriter Justin Rutledge performs a song from his newest album Daredevil, an ode to one of Canada's most beloved bands, The Tragically Hip. Justin won this year's JUNO for Best Roots/Traditional Solo Album for Valleyheart.
   
• Ottawa-based electronic musicians and originators of the Electric Pow Wow A Tribe Called Red perform from their latest album, the Polaris Prize-shortlisted Nation II Nation. The group was hailed at Breakthrough Group of the Year at this year's JUNO Awards.
   
• Regular Q rabble-rouser Elvira Kurt, keeper of Q's Cultural Hall of Shame, brings her comedic chops to the stage.
