Audio postcard: mariachi traditions from Mexico City

It's recently been announced that Garcia Bernal, one of the stars of Pixar's animated film Coco, will be one of the musical performers at the Academy Awards show on March 4, 2018. If you've seen Coco, you'll know the film is a real love letter to Mexican mariachi culture, and it's helped spread the mariachi tradition around the world.

Maria and Amelia Lavin are sisters who play in a mariachi family band called Mariachi Charanda. They sent in this audio postcard from Mexico City.
