Alvvays explain the 'separation narrative' at the heart of their new album

Toronto indie-pop band Alvvays return with their sophomore album, Antisocialites. They talk to host Tom Power about the 'separation narrative' that runs through the record and why they're not too keen on being too confessional in their music.
Molly Rankin on becoming 'a hermit' to write Alvvays' new album.

After the huge success of their self-titled debut album and smash single "Archie Marry Me," Toronto's Alvvays have regrouped with their sophomore record Antisocialites. It matches the promise shown by their debut, with sharp lyrics, enhanced production, shimmering guitars and Molly Rankin's undeniable hooks.

Alvvays come to the q studio to talk about their personal and professional dynamics and to perform "Plimsoll Punks" and  "Dreams Tonight" from their new album.
