Narcy on the 'universe of struggle' we all share

Iraqi-Canadian rapper, actor and activist, Narcy — born Yassin Alsalman — is up for video of the year for his work on "R.E.D." by A Tribe Called Red which Narcy features on along with Yasiin Bey and the Black Bear singers.

Narcy says that it was his own background and shared feelings of "borderlessness" that helped him collaborate with A Tribe Called Red.

"Being from Iraq and growing up in Montreal, I always watched my motherland on the news being bombarded and getting stories from back home from our family dealing with inhumane situations, so that sort of narrative was always in my life. Then as I grew up, I started seeing people from different communities who have the same experience of life in a different way," he tells host Tom Power.

Narcy joins Power to discuss his collaboration with A Tribe Called Red and the "universe of struggle" we all share.
