Game of Thrones' Jeremy Podeswa reveals what it takes to direct an epic TV series

Epic is a word that gets thrown around a lot these days, but with Game of Thrones, the term really is appropriate. 

The average budget for the show's last season is reported to be $10 million per episode, filming jumps across countries, from Northern Ireland, to Croatia, to Spain. There are intricate costumes and special effects that bring dragons and zombie armies to life. And all of that is on top of a complicated plot that needs to hang together. 

There's so much going on that it can be hard to take it all in, so imagine what it's like to direct something so grand. Jeremy Podeswa has been trusted to do just that. 

He most recently directed the Game of Thrones season seven premiere, which aired this week, and he'll also be behind the camera for this season's finale. 

Today, Podeswa joins guest host Ali Hassan on the show to discuss his work on the popular show, his work before Game of Thrones, making indie films in Toronto, and perhaps a few details about this upcoming season of GOT.
