Ever since her debut album Know-It-All was released in 2015, Canadian musician Alessia Cara has been on a meteoric rise — one that has included a Juno for best pop album and a Grammy for best new artist, the first ever for a Canadian.

Now Cara is gearing up to release her much-anticipated sophomore album, and last night she gave the first single its TV debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The track highlights Cara's honest, soulful style as she sings about seeking happiness — but accepting the "growing pains" that invariably happen along the way.

"I've always been a go-getter. There's truth in every word I write," she sings. "But still, the growing pains, growing pains, they're keeping me up at night."

She is remarkable to watch. Check it out:

It's not the first time that Cara has appeared on The Tonight Show. During an appearance in 2017, Cara showed off her impressions of fellow singers including Ariana Grande and Lorde.
