Was Banksy's identity accidentally revealed?
In an interview with British musician Goldie, he accidentally confirmed what many have long believed.
There has always been a rumour that Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja was the man behind the mysterious Banksy, the Bristol graffiti artist and activist who turned the art world on its head.
That rumour may finally have been confirmed in an interview with fellow musician Goldie who, with a slip of the tongue, referred to Banksy by his first name.
"Give me a bubble letter and put it on a T-shirt and write Banksy on it and we're sorted," he told the Distraction Pieces podcast. "We can sell it now…. No disrespect to Robert, I think he is a brilliant artist. I think he has flipped the world of art over."
It's long been speculated that Del Naja was the head of the art collective behind Banksy's work. In 2016, the Daily Mail spelled out the evidence in an investigative piece called "Is this the real face of Banksy?" One key piece of evidence was the proximity of Banksy art sightings around the world in relation to Massive Attack gigs.
Now with Goldie's apparent confirmation, will the world finally learn Banksy's real idenity?
