After much speculation, we finally know who the next James Bond will be: Daniel Craig.

That's right, the actor who has played the famous spy role since 2006's Casino Royale has decided to return for his fifth and sixth Bond films. This may come as a surprise to fans as Craig was very vocal in expressing his desires to leave the franchise in 2015.

Two years ago, in an interview with Time Out, Craig was asked whether he could imagine himself doing another Bond film. To that, he said: "Now? I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That's fine. I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on."

Craig later on clarified his statements, adding "if I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money."

And if that's the case, then Craig is about to cash in a big cheque. Radar reports that the actor has been offered $150 million for two more upcoming 007 flicks.

Craig's hatred of Bond goes beyond playing it. In another interview with The Red Bulletin, Craig called Bond a "misogynist."

Sources also told the Daily Mirror that, in addition to Craig returning to the films, execs are also hoping to bring singer Adele back to sing another theme song. Adele's theme for 2012's Skyfall won an Academy Award for best original song.

Prior to this announcement, many names were tossed around as Craig's potential successor, including Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Henry Cavil.

Craig is not the only Bond actor who has openly hated his iconic character. Sean Connery also had some harsh words about Bond, telling the Guardian back in 2004: "I have always hated that damned James Bond. I'd like to kill him."
