Fashion critic Robin Givhan remembers Prince's style as "sexy and masculine."

"One of the great things that he did was take these sort of ideas and silhouettes and designs, that we tend to think of as being feminine, and he wore them in a way with full on swaggering masculinity," Givhan tells Shad.

As for Prince's presence in the fashion world, Givhan says his dress was more than a simple stage costume it was a personal expression of who he was.

"In Prince's downtime he was wearing a ruffled shirt," she imagines.
