Meet the white firefighter who sued for racial discrimination
A firefighter sued the City of Buffalo after being held back for a promotion. He says it's because he's white.
Eugene 'Geno' Margerum is one of twelve firefighters who sued the City of Buffalo for racial discrimination after being held back for a promotion. He claims it's because he's white.
Two state courts sided with Margerum, but the suit is still working it's way through the court system. The city of Buffalo's lead attorney said that "The city, at all times, acted under its rights under federal law."
Geno talks to Piya about not being promoted and his feelings of hurt and confusion.
