In a small, padded room in downtown Halifax, a group of women are ready smash their way out of a vicious cycle.

They're ready to destroy the mirrors, bathroom scales and other objects that represent their past relationships with self-image and eating disorders. 

"It's going to be really cathartic to smash it up, and be like: this [mirror] does not define me," said Emma Wells. "It's a great physical metaphor for smashing my eating disorder's voice."
