When we began our season by launching the Now or Never list, we weren't sure if it would catch on.

But every week, hundreds of people from across the country filled it out — including some Canadian personalities you might recognize.

Here are some of the surprising things that people, like all four hosts of The National, revealed as they took the motivational questionnaire.

All four hosts of the National, Rosemary Barton, Andrew Chang, Adrienne Arsenault and Ian Hanomansing, were in the Now or Never list hot seat. (CBC)

Adrienne Arsenault can't throw out her lucky pair of boots

"I bought them in the 90s. I have taken them to every crazy, snaky location I've ever been to. They've been re-soled I think three times. They're pretty disgusting looking. But I can't get rid of them. I feel like if I get rid of them something really bad is going to happen. It's so stupid — they're just a pair of boots, but I love them. My entire career is in these boots."

Rosemary Barton just wants to curl up with a good book

"I used to make my closet in my bedroom into a reading cubby, with pillows and one of those little lights that you could attach to your book. I would like to do that again. It was very comfortable and quiet — no one ever bothered me. I don't know if I could get away with it, but I would do it. "

Ian Hanomansing called up his old boss to say thank you

"There's a guy in Amherst, N.S., Geoff DeGannes, who a long time ago, back in 1979, hired me just coming out of high school to work at a radio station. I was just a kid — 17 or 18 years old."

"Every job I've had you can trace back to that, especially with this new assignment. I think about who I was when I was 17, how I would never have imagined that I would have the job I have now. His hiring me definitely opened the door, made it possible."

Andrew Chang is obsessed with board games

"I live in a condo complex with hundreds of units and I feel like I could make that neighbourhood a million times better if I got back on the wagon of organizing games nights. I'm a big gamer and I love board games, too. King of Tokyo, it's such a great game."

Pat Mastroianni, left, told Now or Never that, as a young actor, he was inspired by Michael J. Fox. (Twitter / @PatMastroianni)

Pat Mastroianni needs to thank Michael J. Fox for inspiring him

"Growing up as a kid, I tried to emulate him as an actor. He was sort of an inspiration to me because he was this short guy who played these fantastic roles on Family Ties and the Back to the Future trilogy. He influenced me so much so that about eight years ago I bought a DeLorean."

Andrew Phung wants to take his wife and kids on a family road trip

"I've made a list of things to do. I want to do all of the cheesy things. I want to wear the cheesy T-shirt. I want to get a cheesy family hat. I want those things, because I want those photos and I want those memories."
