How one woman called out racist guys on Tinder
For a lot of folks, Tinder is the go-to app for finding romance. Swipe right on a potential partner to accept, swipe left to deny - it's a pretty simple system.
But for Jessica Deer, a 25-year-old from Kahnawake, things got a little more complicated. She signed up for the app at the urging of her sister, who said that "you haven't lived until you've been on a Tinder date."
But every so often, the online conversations turned slightly... racist. Jessica uses her Mohawk name - Kanhehsiio - online, which leads to some awkward questions.
"One of the first questions is always: 'what does your name mean? Is that your real name?'," said Deer.
"The conversation, 90 percent of the time, goes in to questioning my identity."
So Jessica decided to take action - and started posting her most outrageous Tinder responses on Twitter, with the hashtag #S**tWhiteGuysTellMe.
