The community of Shoal Lake 40 has been cut off from the mainland for a century, even though it sits just kilometres away from the Trans-Canada highway.
Life isn't easy there. But roughly 250 people still call the First Nation home – a number that will hopefully grow following the government's recent funding announcement.
