With all eyes on Harper, Trudeau, Mulcair and May - we take a look at the candidates looking to unseat the party leaders in their own ridings. In Part 1, the hopefuls in Stephen Harper's Calgary Heritage riding and Justin Trudeau's Papineau riding in Quebec.

In 2011, Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff lost more than just his bid to become Prime Minister. He also lost the race in his riding of Etobicoke-Lakeshore. And he's not alone. Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe also failed to win his own seat in the last election. Kim Campbell lost her seat when the Progressive Conservatives were swept away in 1993. No lesser lights than Tommy Douglas, William Lyon Mackenzie King and even John A. MacDonald lost their own seats before making political comebacks.

This week, we take a look at some of the candidates looking to upset the current leaders In part one, meet the hopefuls in Stephen Harper's Calgary Heritage riding and candidates running against Justin Trudeau in the Papineau riding of Montreal.

The candidates in Calgary Heritage we reached were Liberal Brendan Miles, Matt Masters Burgener of the NDP, and independent candidate Nicolas Duchastel de Montagne. In Papineau, we spoke to Tommy Gaudet of the Rhinoceros Party, independent Chris Lloyd, Danny Polifroni of the Green Party, and Yvon Vadnais of the Conservatives,
