Fields of election dreams
Forget putting up a small election sign on your front lawn. Two farmers with opposing political views are going tractor to tractor in a face-off that's taking election messaging to a whole new level.
It all started when an aerial photographer noticed an anti-Harper slogan written in giant letters in a rye field in southern Ontario. The field in question belongs to farmer John Langs. And when pictures of the field went viral online, they caught the attention of Alberta potato farmer Bill Tamminga, who then decided to make his own pro-Harper political statement. To find out what goes into creating an election sign of this magnitude, Langs and Tamminga carved out time for us in the middle of their busy harvest season.
