In 1976, Toronto Star columnist Rick Salutin met Béliveau as he was writing Les Canadiens, a play that explores the divisions between Quebec and the rest of Canada through hockey.
The second act of the play opens with Béliveau on the ice, delivering a monologue. Rick Salutin shares his memories of Béliveau with Day 6 and reads that monologue. And check cbc.ca/news for full coverage of Béliveau's funeral, at 2pm ET on Wednesday December 10th.
