Bearing witness to the photos that help prove Syrian torture
As Syrian peace talks stalled this week, a new report paints a grim picture of the Assad regime's treatment of detainees. Based on thousands of photos taken by a defector from Syrian security forces, the report concludes the images prove systematic torture, execution and starvation of Syrian prisoners. The Syrian government denies the charges. The report was sponsored by the government of Qatar and prepared by experienced international court prosecutors. Brent spoke to forensic pathologist Dr. Stuart Hamilton, who analyzed 5,500 images. The subject matter of this discussion may be disturbing to some.
