Did PEDs really help A-Rod?
Resounding boos echoed from the stands as Alex Rodriguez made his return to baseball this week. A-Rod was given a 211-game suspension for violating the MLB's drug policy following an investigation into Biogenesis of America, a Florida clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs. Twelve other players who were also penalized accepted their 50-game suspensions, but Rodriguez is planning to play while he appeals his punishment. In all of the media coverage on the scandal, sports journalist Allen Barra says an important question has yet to be answered. Barra is the author of "Mickey and Willie--The Parallel Lives of Baseball's Golden Age." He joins Day 6 this week to talk about whether or not drugs such as Human Growth Hormone actually enhance performance.
